In 2009, Drake saw his mixtape popularity swell and he was in the middle of a bidding war. Eventually, he joined Young Money and completed Lil Wayne’s mission. Both Young Money and their parent label, Cash Money Records, were on top of the game.

Much has changed, since then, as Lil Wayne is suing Cash Money and trying to leave the label. This has left Drake with no option other than promoting OVO Sound, his label. Ironically, the label situation occurred when Drake took over the music industry.

Drake has toured the country for the “Summer Sixteen” tour, but recently revealed he has to stop. An ankle injury is preventing him from performing in his native Toronto, Newark, and Philadelphia. Because of this, Drake shared a letter with his social media followers, apologizing for his situation.
