Back in 2009, Jay Z released The Blueprint 3 and the album contained a song called “Off That,” featuring Drake. The record lightly touched on several situations. Racism is among the topics Jay Z addressed, as he says “it’s two thousand and ten, not 1864.”

All of the progressive movements on race relations have fallen apart, over the past four years. Ironically, this marks the beginning of the second Obama term. This period of time have seen several police officers, around the country, kill young, black, men.

Eric Garner, in 2014, was one of the more brutal murders and it was caught on camera. Ramsey Orta was the person who filmed the heinous act and it led to him being targeted by the police, according to what those close to him say. He was caught selling drugs to an undercover cop and is now going to prison and people are on Twitter, debating this.
