Back in January, Desiigner emerged and put Future back on the charts, early on. When “Panda” first hit, most assumed it was a Future track, until Desiigner was recruited by Pusha T. During Kanye West’s TIDAL show, Desiigner was revealed as G.O.O.D. Music’s newest addition.
Immediately, Desiigner was co-signed by Jay Z and Def Jam made him the face of the label. When Tyga signed with G.O.O.D. Music, they immediately paired him with Desiigner, even with his and Big Sean’s history. So, Desiigner won before he attended the BET Hip Hop Awards.
Desiigner was nominated for Track of the Year, Best New Hip Hop Artist, People’s Champ, and Best Hip Hop Video. Unfortunately, he came up short for every award, but Desiigner was okay with this and celebrated anyway. This earned him high marks from most people on Twitter, plus DJ Khaled is all about the positivity.
