National Guard arrives outside of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in reaction to #CharlotteProtest ahead of #MINvsCAR game

nationalguardincharlotteigDue to the ongoing tensions with the police, the city of Charlotte is a complete warzone. While the protests are taking place for a very valid reason, Charlotte is a city with pro sports. During the riots, looters stole from the Charlotte Hornets’ store.

Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers are playing in the heart of the city with a chip on their shoulder. Franchise player, Cam Newton, has spoken on the #BlackLivesMatter movement prior to the season. Now, it takes on new meaning with a shooting taking place in Charlotte.

Protesters are continuing their protest at Bank of America Stadium, where the Panthers play. Taking precautions for the Panthers’ game this afternoon against the Minnesota Vikings, the National Guard has arrived in order to keep the situation calm. Twitter is all over this, giving a play-by-play to everything going on.
