One of the most-inspiring stories in hip hop is Roc-A-Fella Records, how three New York guys came together to make history. The storied label housed all of Jay Z’s classics and many other artists. Outside of the success of Jay Z, Memphis Bleek, Cam’ron, and Kanye West were there.

Damon Dash was the CEO of Roc-A-Fella Records before he was forced to exit the company. Following this, he, Jay Z, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke sold the label to Def Jam. Ultimately, Jay Z held the CEO position there, for a few years.

Earlier this week, Damon Dash made an announcement that he was working on a new series. This show is said to be a “brutally honest” depiction of the behind the scenes stuff at the Roc. Dash intends for this series to detail the 1996 – 2004 period of the company.
