In the 1990s, many artists achieved success and fame, Monifah among them. Signed to Uptown Records, Monifah worked with Heavy D, early in her career. Soon, she got her moment to shine, releasing her Mo’hogany album in 1998.
Monifah already had her Moods… Moments debut album, which dropped in 1996. With her second album, Monifah made her biggest impacts and her sophomore effort went gold. Since then, Monifah has gain reality TV fame.
Tonight, TV One, the home to her “R&B Divas” show is doing an “Unsung” feature on her. This spotlight feature will showcase her full career and personal life. In anticipation of this, Hip Hop Vibe spotlights her best-known single, “Touch It,” as this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
