There were Toronto rappers before Drake, but none of them managed to impact the game how he has. Since Drake emerged and had his success, several other Toronto artists have emerged. The past year has seen Tory Lanez come into his own as a star.
Unfortunately, there appears to be little unity between Drake and Tory Lanez. Instead, the two have traded shots from the moment Tory Lanez gained notoriety. Currently, the two are embroiled in a back-and-forth over the “Controlla” track.
Drake used the opening of his “Summer Sixteen” tour to fire back at the younger star. Not limiting his shots to just Tory Lanez, Drake also went back at his rival from 2015. His former label-mate, Tyga, also received some shots aimed in his direction.
