Everything Birdman has done, he has always done it big. When the world first learned of Birdman, he just closed a $100 million deal with Universal. But, this followed five years of hard work on the independent scene to build Cash Money Records.
Birdman has gone through several transitions with Cash Money. A few years ago, Lil Wayne took over the game with Young Money, starring Drake and Nicki Minaj. The label then almost acquired Rick Ross’ Maybach Music with Wale and Meek Mill.
MMG never landed, but Birdman did add DJ Khaled’s We The Best to the Cash Money umbrella, including Ace Hood. Now, the label is dwindling again, but Birdman has many new business ventures, including GTV, which he has been promoting for the past few years. “Music Moguls” viewers discussed the GTV party on Twitter, his sales expectations, and him saying he would land Lil Wayne for his new album.
