During the “Empire” winter hiatus, Xzibit was announced to be joining the cast. Similar to Chris Rock and Ludacris before him, Xzibit was credited as a past rival of Lucious’ (Terrence Howard). It turns out, he was a rap associate of Lucious, when he was on the come-up.
Xzibit is well-known in the rap game, in real life, but probably best-known for his TV hosting gigs. But, real music heads know Xzibit and his music. The current generation will now know Xzibit for his “Empire” role.
When Xzibit appeared on “Empire,” he pressed Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) for an invite to Hakeem’s (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) wedding. He got the invite and then ended up turning the wedding out. It turns out, Lee Daniels and Danny Strong liked X’s contributions so much that they are bringing him back in season three for a bigger role.
