Last weekend, Madonna immediately placed herself on the bad side of the urban community. Despite being a close friend of Prince, her tribute at the Billboard Awards left more to be desired. The fans on Twitter showed Madonna absolutely no love.
In typical BET fashion, they made a hilarious tweet about the incident, as their annual award show is on the horizon. BET promised they would have a much better tribute. Rumor has it, Tevin Campbell will be among the performers for their Prince tribute.
Even though a week has passed, Madonna still has what happened in the back of her mind. Seeing how cruel some of those tweets were, even a celebrity would have a hard time just brushing that off. So, Madonna fought humor with humor, wearing a Prince jacket and telling Twitter she did so without BET’s permission.
