It’s hard to imagine, just four years ago, the Philadelphia 76ers were actually a perennial playoff team. They made the playoffs every year, from 2008 through 2012, with the exception of 2010. Then, the team was led by Andre Iguodala, of Golden State Warriors fame.
Andre Iguodala, during this period of time, was a franchise player and he led some good Sixer squads. However, Philadelphia was never a championship contender. In fact, they only got past the first round, due to Derrick Rose getting injured when they played the Bulls in 2012.
Despite being one win from the Conference Finals in 2012, the 76ers blew their team up. Since 2012, the Sixers have been bottomfeeders, but they have some nice pieces to build around and they decided to stop taking after this season. The NBA Draft Lottery was revealed and the Sixers won out.
