Despite the many reported struggles TIDAL has endured, they have had no problem landing high-profile partners. After the initial star-studded party, TIDAL endured many struggles. In the midst of Jay Z receiving bad press and losing execs, TIDAL landed Lil Wayne.

The 2014-2015 period was especially bad for Lil Wayne, as his relationship with Birdman imploded. This led to Lil Wayne’s album being delayed. Because of this, Lil Wayne insulted Birdman on social media and insulted Cash Money Records and then joined TIDAL.

In response to this, Birdman launched a $50 million lawsuit against the streaming service. This made major news headlines, as Jay Z purchased TIDAL for only $56 million. However, a representative from TIDAL revealed the lawsuit never came to fruition and the judge dropped the case.
