Greatness is always a process and Jay Z’s venture with TIDAL has been a process and then some. Despite bringing on Alicia Keys, J. Cole, Rihanna, Kanye West, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Madonna, and T.I., among others, the platform is struggling. But, things were looking up.

TIDAL received tons of press and a boost in subscribers with their early 2016 work. They dropped Rihanna’s album, scored a huge Samsung deal, and dropped Kanye West’s album with a fashion show. The latter release brought 20 million viewers to the service.

Currently, TIDAL is receiving good press, but the company is still floundering, according to reports. It is being said that TIDAL is losing $10 million a year, which means the company is in serious trouble, and the exclusives are doing nothing to save the business. The subscriber growth is currently not enough to mitigate the financial losses.
