A major reason for the beef Lil Wayne had with Birdman was the health of his Young Money label. Only a few years ago, Young Money was a powerhouse in the music industry. Behind hits from Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga, outside of Lil Wayne, they owned the game.
But, Lil Wayne being forced into hiatus changed things for the worse, which led to him lashing out at Birdman. In 2014, Tyga left the label and rumors began of Drake doing the same. The release of Drake’s 2015 project led many to believe he was forcing himself off the label.
Now, Drake has made it official that he has left Young Money/Cash Money Records. He took to his Instagram to make a big announcement after performing with Rihanna at the 2016 BRIT Awards. The announcement is that Drake has joined Skepta’s Boy Better Know label and Twitter is still in shock.
