Hip hop’s last truly special year was 1996, as it was the only year to boast new music from Tupac, Biggie, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, and Nas. That year saw Dr. Dre launch Aftermath and Timbaland emerge with his unique sound. This gave birth to Ginuwine and his run.
Timbaland went on to become one of the biggest names in music and is now reaching legendary status. Early in his career, he was best-known for his work with Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, and Magoo. He also put in tons of work with Jay Z, most notably “Big Pimpin,'” and 50 Cent.
