Until his 2009 prison sentence, T.I. was fast becoming the biggest force in the game. Early in his career, T.I. was named “the Jay Z of the South” by Pharrell. Beginning in 2006 and continuing until 2009, T.I. began to embody that.
The consistency, the hit records, and the acclaim had T.I. on top of the world. However, his prison sentences truly set him back and he has not been the same since. Despite scoring a few hits, T.I. is now obviously an older figure.
Aware of this, T.I. is okay, as he said he had his moment on top of the game and now he does it more for fun. Reverting to his original moniker of TIP, he is delivering a new album. His latest effort is titled The Dime Trap, T.I. released the official cover for the album yesterday via Instagram.
