Last night, Erykah Badu was the woman of the hour, when she hosted the 2015 Soul Train Awards. Prior to this, Erykah Badu made a surprising return to the music scene. Her return was a “Hotline Bling” remix, Drake’s hit record.
Erykah Badu then revealed she had an entire phone-inspired mixtape on the way. Her inspiration to returning to making music was Drake, especially after she heard “Hotline Bling.” For someone with love for the older school, this was another big win for Drake.
Recently, Erykah Badu talked about Drake, her new music, and hosting the Soul Train Awards with Complex. During the interview, Erykah Badu explained meeting Drake and instantly hitting it off. She went on to reveal they are working on putting some music out together.
