Because he isn’t as popular as he used to be, it’s easy to forget R. Kelly had hits for days. Long before he and Jay Z even thought about joining forces, R. Kelly was the king of R&B. After all, he was out there doing it for Space Jam and working with Michael Jordan.

In 1998, R. Kelly reached a new peak in his career and released R, which contained the “I Believe I Can Fly” single. Since he reached many of his goals, R. Kelly felt inspirational during that time period. Another song off the album, “Did You Ever Think,” was also inspirational.

R. Kelly landed Nas for the official remix and the “Did You Ever Think” music video was for the remix. The song was not only inspirational and one of the biggest singles of summer 1999, it reached number two on the Billboard Hip Hop charts. Now, with R. Kelly making new music, Hip Hop Vibe went down memory lane, making this the Wednesday Throwback.
