Puff Daddy ends deal with Interscope Records in favor of new deal with L.A. Reid at Epic Records

Diddy 17During the early stages of Bad Boy Records, Puff Daddy ran the label under Arista Records. Currently defunct, Arista was a subsidiary of Sony Music Group. In the years since then, Bad Boy Records has had several label homes.

Since 2009, Bad Boy Records has been distributed by Interscope Records, who released French Montana’s debut album. But, seeing how it is all about the old school for Puff Daddy, it made sense to make a change. Once again, Puff Daddy is taking it back to the past.

Back in the day, L.A. Reid ran LaFace Records under Arista, as Puffy ran Bad Boy with them. As he is leaving Interscope Records, Puff Daddy has established a new deal, which is a blast from the past. Currently, Puff Daddy is signed to Epic Records, the sister label of Arista, and this is where his new album will be released.
