Everybody is always talking about “Empire,” because the show just has what it takes. A soap opera about hip hop that comes on at night, “Empire” finally got it right. Last season, many people rooted for Jamal, the overlooked gay son of Lucious and Cookie.
Fighting as an underdog, Jamal earned Lucious’ respect and became the heir of Empire. This hurt Andre and Hakeem, who began plotting against Lucious, as he already had both upset. Meanwhile, Jamal proved himself just as ruthless as the imprisoned Lucious.
In tonight’s episode, Jamal continued doing Lucious’ bidding, going after Hakeem when his father told him to bring him back to Empire. It looked like Jamal and Hakeem could go back to being close brothers, but to no avail, as Rhonda turned to Jamal in confidence about Andre. Ruthless with Hakeem, compassionate with Rhonda, and loving with Michael, Jamal had Twitter talking.
