Post-retirement, Jay Z is not the artist he was during his original run in the game. When Jay Z made his initial run, he released a new album every year. His second run saw him release albums in consecutive years, but he is not as accessible as he used to be.
It typically turns out that Jay Z will release a project when people least expect it. Usually, his projects last for six months to a year and then they die down. When the project dies down, Jay Z goes silent and when he gets too quiet, he returns.
Recently, T.I. took to his Instagram to reveal his mentor is indeed returning to the game. Making his return, this time Jay Z is doing a collaborative project. He is teaming up with T.I. for his Da Dime Trap EP, which he confirmed on his Instagram.
