Hip hop history is being made in 2015, as many of the all-time living legends are back and actively working on new projects. By 2014, most gave up on Dr. Dre ever delivering a new album. These critics were silenced this year.

Dr. Dre returned with Compton (A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre), his long-awaited final album, last week. The album was inspired by Dr. Dre working as the braintrust for Straight Outta Compton. With the movie out, the sales for Dre’s new album are in.

The first week numbers are in for Dr. Dre with Compton. Released exclusively on Apple Music, Dr. Dre did not do as big as many projected. Instead of the 1 billion streams, Dr. Dre did a little over 300,000, which isn’t too shabby, and then a little over 278,500 physical copies in his firs week.
