Months after “Empire” wrapped season one, it is still the most-popular show on television. Even though it stars veteran actors, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett was the breakout star. Smollett portrayed their gay son, Jamal Lyon, on the show.
A pivotal moment during “Empire” season one was when Jamal performed at the Empire All White Party. Remaking Lucious’ (Howard) 1990s hit, “You’re So Beautiful,” Jamal changed the lyrics. The song had the line, “this the kind of song make a woman love a man.”
