Even with all of the surprise albums and music streams, there is no telling if/when Dr. Dre drops a new album, but he is keeping busy. Last year, he was at the center of hip hop’s first billion dollar deal. When Beats by Dre was purchased for $3 billion, Dre collected $800 million.
Dr. Dre is also instrumental in the music streaming wars going on, as his new parent company, Apple, is in the mix. They recently launched Beats Radio 1 and they are going all out. Last week, several new shows on the station were announced.
Among the shows is “The Pharmacy,” which Dr. Dre will be hosting. This is a big moment, as Dr. Dre only makes selective public appearances and now he is hosting a show. Other shows on the service will be hosted by Eminem, among others.
