Too often, the people in the world focus too much on the wrong things. As shown by the news, race relations is all people seem to care about. A person’s skin color and ethnicity is still a deciding factor, but when people from all walks of life come together, they make beautiful things.
Olivia Desiree is a living reminder of what happens when people come together for love. Her ethnic background includes German, Jamaican, and Cuban. This set the tone for a unique and beautiful life, lived by a unique and beautiful woman.
In this week’s Hottie of the Week edition, Olivia Desiree is taking time out to speak to us. She explained why she decided to become a model and why she has stuck with it, through the ups and downs. A little deeper into the interview, she explained what it takes for a man to catch her eye.

What was the defining moment that led you to believe you could become a successful model? I feel like when I went into modeling I went into it with the determination to be successful. There was never an option to not be successful in anything I have ever done. I put my mind to it and it happens.
Can you tell us a little bit about your ethnicity and how it was growing up with such a diverse background? I am German, Jamaican, and Cuban. It has it’s good and bad just like anything else. Surprisingly, I deal with more racial profiling from black people than I do white or Spanish. There is a huge culture shock in customs and the way things are done at my mom’s vs my father’s house. My father is a lot more formal and by the book than my mother.
Do you at all get stereotyped due to your looks and if so how do you deal with it? Yes, very much so. I hear all the time “She probably thinks she’s all that”, etc. It is very annoying honestly because I am a very humble woman. I came from nothing so I know everything I have can be taken away from me. I just smile and keep it moving. People who judge me don’t deserve to get to know the real me as far as I’m concerned.
Have you worked with any publications or any of the top photographers yet and if not who are some of the people who you look forward to work with? Yes, I have worked with a few big names. I would really like to step out of urban photography and get into some other things as well. More of a commercial or fashion type style photographer.
When it comes to your career how hands on are you involved with the process? Well, I have two careers and both of them I am in 100% control of what happens. A career is a big deal. I do not feel anybody but me can make the ultimate decisions for me.
Describe Olivia’s personality. What are some things people do that cause you to act out of character? I am very forward and aggressive at times. I am very honest and humble. I enjoy the little things in life. I am very ambitious and goal oriented. I love spending time with my family. I think a year ago I may have said a few things that would cause me to act out of character but I feel I have grown since then. Somebody would have to do something extreme like hurt a family member for me to even waste the energy of being angry.
Are you planning to use modeling as a platform to transition yourself into other careers? I plan to use modeling to make money and to be a role model. Young girls see you on Instagram and say “Oh how can I be like you”, this opens the door for me to actually talk to these young girls about a life outside of Instagram. Who knows, I may change someones life one day.
What type of men are you attracted to? A leader, soft-spoken, goal oriented, ambitious, and a hustler. A grown ass man and not a child basically.
Whats the easiest way to get your attention and once we have your attention how do we make you our girl? Consistency is key.
