Damon Dash claims “Empire” borrowed from his life story for Terrence Howard’s Lucious Lyon

Damon Dash Boyce WatkinsHands down, “Empire” is the runaway hit show this season. Created by the popular Lee Daniels, “Empire” is influenced by the hip hop industry and lifestyle. The show is a soap opera based on the hip hop industry and stars Terrence Howard, who plays a hip hop mogul, Lucious Lyon.

Danny Strong, the “Empire” co-creator, said the show is based on the life of Jay Z. Meanwhile, Diddy was rumored to have filed a lawsuit against the show creators for stealing his life. After watching a little “Empire,” Hip Hop Vibe surmised Lucious has a lot of Damon Dash in him, too.

Damon Dash continued his interview series with Dr. Boyce Watkins and he opened up on “Empire,” given his history with Lee Daniels. Recently, Damon Dash and Lee Daniels settled their legal skirmish. In the latest part of his interview, Damon Dash said he feels Terrence Howard’s character borrows elements of his own personality.
