In 2001, Lil Jon was still establishing himself as the force he would become in the next two to five years. That particular year saw Lil Jon and Tha Eastside Boyz release Beatin’ Down Yo Block, their third album. The most-notable single off the album was “Bia Bia.”

Lil Jon and Tha Eastside Boyz emerged as the most-popular act on the hip hop scene in Atlanta. It was “Bia Bia” that put them back on the map and the song featured an all-star cast. The track featured Ludacris, Too $hort, Big Kapp, and Chyna Whyte.

The song helped to bring the crunk movement to the forefront of the hip hop industry and Lil Jon became a legend, along the way. “Bia Bia” is a memorable song and it gets the club going, to this day. Because of this and the Atlanta hip hop history, “Bia Bia” is the Wednesday Throwback for this week.
