There is a lot of tension between Young Money and their parent company, the infamous Cash Money Records. Once, Birdman and Lil Wayne were like father and son and Cash Money Records was being ran by Wayne, in addition to Young Money. A lot has changed since this period of time.
When it worked, it worked, Lil Wayne took over the rap game and then he made the world respect Young Money. Within a year of signing Drake, he was platinum with several top ten hits. But, as quickly as it rose, it all fell apart.
Lil Wayne has hurled insults at Birdman and Cash Money Records for the past six months. In the end, Young Money sided with Lil Wayne, as he is their boss. The silence ended when Drake performed in Detroit, last night, and he added a new verse to “Jungle,” where he dissed Cash Money Records.
