Hottie of the Week: Latoy Boitoy

Latoya Boitoy 3By Stranga The Great
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Out of all the profitable industries, entertainment is the most alluring of them all. There is something about the bright lights, the cameras, unique places, and beautiful women that pulls people in. For years, many believed they could only find these places in New York City and Los Angeles.

Later years saw Miami, Atlanta, and Chicago added to this list, but everywhere there are beautiful places and women. Cleveland, Ohio is the home of Latoy Boitoy, in addition to LeBron James. Of course, LeBron brings the star power, but Latoya is bringing the beauty.

Latoy Boitoy is actually the lady we intended to feature for Hottie of the Week last week. However, last week was a week where Hip Hop Vibe dealt with a lot of issues. All of those issues are in the past and now Latoy Boitoy is free to share her goals and ambitions with the world.

Read the entire interview below:

How would you describe your city to someone who has never been there?
I would say its a crazy but vibrant city on the rise. If you love a big city then you’ll love Cleveland. It has lots of things to do if you are a “Think outside the box” kind of person. Just don’t get caught up because it’ll eat you alive.

How did you transition from being an underground Hip Hop artist to being a featured and published model?
I haven’t really transitioned from neither because I’ve always been both, an artist and model. Being an artist and model goes hand in hand because its about image. Branding and marketing yourself. I’ve been grinding, waiting for the opportunity to present itself to become a published model.

Who is your favorite female artist and how do you feel currently about the females in Hip Hop?
Oh wow (laughs) I have a few favorite’s. Lil Kim (Hard Core/Notorious K.I.M. Lil Kim), Mia X, Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill, Eve, and Foxy Brown. The female Hip Hop scene is scarce particularly because everyone expects all female artists should be like Nicki but if you do your biting. She’s hot but It should be more diverse sounds in women’s Hip Hop. Women need to step up and stop hating on the next. The men got the game on smash but we could do the same.

You are credited as having a role in a Tyler Perry film, what kind of experience was that and is acting any different than modeling to you?
An experience of a lifetime! I was on set for two long 14 hour days, it was well worth every minute. The feeling you have makes you feel proud and accomplished, even though I still have ways to go. Acting and modeling are very similar because you have to express certain emotions on camera. You want to make your audience feel what you are putting out. The difference comes when you have actual speaking roles. It requires more energy and more infliction.

You are in a relationship with another rapper from Cleveland. Can you tell us how you guys connected and how do you guys make it work being that in the independent entertainment field? Yes! I am in an unbelievable relationship with Young Shon who is an amazing artist. Punchlines, bars and flow he got it. We met back in 2008 when we were both underground artist. We frequented a lot of shows and events together. He was my homie and it was all love. He then brought me on board to be a co-host on his internet radio show “Black Kush” on blogtalkradio.com in 2013. Our chemistry was crazy and our relationship just kind of happened. He showed me he actually gave a fuck about me and my well being.

He found out I was what he was looking for in a woman and I found out he was everything I was looking for in a man. We make our relationship work because we don’t have people in our business. We communicate well and talk to each other about any and everything. We don’t have shouting matches. We support each other tremendously no matter what. We trust each other and we laugh a lot! We make life about God and our family before anything else. We don’t let the groupies and outsiders get in our heads. We don’t just say we love, we show love. We hold it down and that’s my right hand.

What ever happened with the group that you were a former member of D.O.C Showstoppaz? Man, we were on the rise (shakes head) I’m just going to say people started feeling themselves and heads started bumping. No love lost though (laughs).

In your opinion how tough has it been to get to the next level with any of the talents that you possess? It’s been extremely tough. The entertainment world is very competitive. You’ll get a hundred no’s just to get that one yes. Everyone is looking for that big break. Then of course you have dream killers and the people around you who subliminally and outright down talk your dreams. I tell everyone who is chasing a dream to never give up and never stop dreaming. Persistently work, network, pray, and keeping a positive attitude will take you far. Be always willing to continuously learn, don’t doubt yourself, and stop making excuses.

What’s the wildest place you’ve made love and if you could trade lives with any sexy person in the world who would you choose?
(Laughs) I’m not too wild. Made love (pauses) outside on my back deck. It was romantic with a cool summer breeze with the stars out.

I actually can’t think of any sexy person I want to trade lives with. I love who I am and never been a fanatic of other people lives.

Do you have any upcoming projects or photo-shoots that you want to tell us about?
I’m currently working on a mixtape with Young Shon and doing collabs with different artists from the 216. A joint project with two former members of D.O.C. Showstoppaz, MzLuck and TayTeez is in the works. I have an upcoming shoot with JPFILMS216, and will be hosting this years Ohio Hip Hop Awards Summer Showcase Tour starting the first weekend in June.
