This week, Soulja Boy kicked things off with the release of Swag, his latest mixtape. The project comes within months of his last mixtape release, continuing his strong run. While the mainstream missed Soulja Boy, he has put a new mixtape out every year.
Soulja Boy was among the many major artists who began associating with the Cash Money Records brand in the 2010s. At one point, it looked like the label would be a major label within itself. Now, however, many of the major acts have left the label or are trying to leave.
For the past couple of years, Soulja Boy has been associating with the whole Cash Money Records brand. He went as far as to even get Rich Gang tattooed on his face, when he began hanging out with Birdman. Now, Soulja Boy has officially joined the label, as his last mixtape release was on Cash Money via Rich Gang.
