Fredro Starr talks Onyx, Jam Master Jay, and signing to Def Jam Records with Steve Lobel [VIDEO]

Fredro Starr Blurred CultureLegendary emcee, Fredro Starr is the frontman for Onyx and he’s been around for over two decades. Most known him from his recurring role on “Moesha” during the 1990s. But, there is much more to Fredro Starr and his contribution on the Queens hip hop scene.

Fredro Starr had a memorable blowout with Charlamagne Tha God last summer when Onyx was on “The Breakfast Club.” They were talking about, among other things, the beef with 50 Cent. Other Queens legends who went at 50 Cent include Mr. Cheeks, who Hip Hop Vibe talked to.

Recently, Steve Lobel sat down with Fredro Starr for Blurred Culture. In the interview, Fredro Starr spoke on the history of Onyx, which has dealt with a death of a member early on. He went on to discuss Jam Master Jay and his deal with Def Jam.
