Honestly, the gatekeepers of hip hop have to do more and Damon Dash is trying to make sure it’s done. There is a lot to take from his interview with “The Breakfast Club,” but most only took the humor from it. But, the hip hop culture is not predominantly owned by the culture.
Damon Dash spearheaded one of the most-successful hip hop movements of all-time alongside Jay-Z. Roc-A-Fella Records was sheer genius and the launching pad for all that Jay-Z has done since then. Yes, hard times did fall upon Damon Dash, but he continues working for the culture.
Recently, Damon Dash took it upon himself to help protect the culture he contributed so much to. He joined forces with two other hip hop legends in Raekwon and Snoop Dogg to form the Hip Hop House of Representatives. Also, Raekwon and Snoop Dogg have a new single for which a video is being filmed.
