With Wale, there was always the potential to be one of the all-time greats and he always delivers good music. But, for varying reasons, Wale always seems to fall short to what the fans and critics desire. One thing he did manage was to pull off the star power hip hop needed.
Following his 2010 departure from Interscope Records, Wale began spending a lot of time in Miami. It didn’t take long for Rick Ross to begin recruiting him to join Maybach Music. Many didn’t believe the deal would happen or work out, but it did both.
Wale dropped The Album About Nothing today and he had a lot to talk about in his various interviews and he talked to Billboard. Often noted is Wale’s battles with depression and he talked about this and using drugs, along with the new album that he says should be on par with Kendrick Lamar’s with critics. In the interview, he also talked about “The Matrimony” featuring Usher and the miscarriage of his child.
