Tupac Shakur will release new album called, “And Now I Rise,” in 2016 on Roc Nation

Just when the hip hop world was finally ready to let go of the idea of Tupac still being alive, he makes news headlines. The iconic, slain, rapper made headlines when rumors surfaced of Jay-Z purchasing the rights to his music. Before he died, Tupac was not too fond of Jay-Z.

Tupac Shakur had become the biggest rapper in the planet in 1996, when he officially joined Death Row Records. His rhymes paired with production from Dr. Dre put him over the top. But, Dr. Dre leaving the label made him very angry and he targeted Dre with the East Coast.

Many didn’t know whether or not to believe the rumors of Jay-Z purchasing the rights to Tupac’s music. Credence to these rumors was given with news of Tupac’s music being compiled into another album. This new album, titled And Now I Rise, will be released in 2016 under Roc Nation.
