There has always been a special relationship between Jennifer Hudson and Patti LaBelle. Both are powerful women of soul and Patti LaBelle somewhat passed the torch to Jennifer Hudson. Their connection is something “Empire” mined in their season finale.
“Empire” has emerged as the hottest show on television, which was led by both Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. With the show coming to an end, they pulled out all the stops. Central characters, the Lyon family, are from Philadelphia and their company is going public.
Nothing is more Philadelphia than Patti LaBelle and “Empire” used this to their advantage. While Jennifer Hudson is from Chicago, she appeared in the final two episodes, appearing in scenes with Trai Byers’ character, Andre. Both took the stage and performed alongside Juicy J, which made a big impact with the fans on Twitter.
