In 2001, Eve made a big enough presence in the game to become one of the top rappers out. The Philadelphia emcee already was popular, but she proved she was top five, now. All gambles on Eve paid off and 2001 saw her release her sophomore album, Scorpion.
Eve went all out for Scorpion, teaming up with the likes of Dr. Dre and future reality TV star, then boyfriend, Stevie J for production. They didn’t disappoint, instead they gave Eve a classic hit. This, along with the recruitment of Gwen Stefani led to “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”
Released in time for the summer of 2001, Eve dominated with her second single off Scorpion. Featuring Gwen Stefani, “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” had one of the craziest music videos, at that time. Since then, the world has seen wilder, but this week’s Wednesday Throwback will have us going back to the days of “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” and Eve during her prime.
