Unfortunately, it’s 2015 and racism is still a hot button topic. Close to sixty years after the Civil Rights movement ended, most would’ve thought racism would be over. Instead, there are adult men of other races killing black men and people becoming comfortable making racist remarks.

Oklahoma City was home to one of the latest occurrences of blatant and unapologetic racism. Members of the SAE fraternity made obscene racist gestures, which made national news. This coincided with Waka Flocka Flame being set to perform for the university crowd.

Waka Flocka Flame did what he can in response to what is going on. He cancelled his performance for the University of Oklahoma, which disappointed Flocka fans in the area. But, he released a statement earlier this afternoon about why he did what he did in a meaningful writing, which he shared on his Instagram.
