Nothing is more futuristic than the year being 2015, but for some reason, racism is a key topic. In response to the injustices done to the urban youth, Common did the song, “Glory,” with John Legend. It is included on the Selma soundtrack and the song has won over the world.
Years ago, Common showed his acting skills and became accomplished on screen. But, Common continues to impress and now the mainstream world is learning how deep the brother is. The world already knew how talented John Legend was and now they see what else he brings.
Tonight, Common and John Legend won an Oscar at the 87th Annual Academy Awards for Best Original Song with “Glory.” Now, Kanye West’s goal has come to fruition for G.O.O.D. Music, Getting Out Our Dreams, as his two original signees, Common and John Legend, have done. Their win and their acceptance speech completely shut the internet down and fans are still tweeting about it.
