Drake’s new mixtape/album, “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late,” will reportedly count

Drake 8When he was a buzzing mixtape rapper, Drake drove a lot of interest and created a bidding war. Universal Records was determined to sign Drake, eventually using Cash Money Records and Young Money to bring him in the fold. In the end, Drake’s friendship with Lil Wayne prevailed.

Last year, Lil Wayne and Drake reminded the hip hop world of why its so hype when they collaborate. Unfortunately, their most-recent collaboration was not the album launch Lil Wayne thought it was. It, instead, was a wasted moment and the last straw.

Lil Wayne is upset with Birdman and Cash Money Records for mishandling his album and pushing it back. He wants off of the label and Lil Wayne wants to take his Young Money imprint with him. Drake is the centerpiece of Young Money and he released If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, a surprise mixtape, but it is rumored to count in the total of albums he owes Cash Money.
