Three years ago, Kendrick Lamar rose from the mixtape scene in Los Angeles and made his partnership with Dr. Dre work. These two went on to create good kid, m.A.A.d. city, which made Kendrick Lamar the biggest artist of 2012. After this, he took an indefinite hiatus.

Late in the summer of 2014, there were rumblings of Kendrick Lamar making his return to the game. Early in the fall, he released the single, “i,” which is the official song of the NBA. The song caught on and now it is an award winner.

Kendrick Lamar is finding all kinds of success with “i” and now it has given him his first two Grammy wins. At the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar takes home two awards with the “i” record. He will take home both Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
