A major figure from the Bay Area is The Jacka, who is best-known for being a member of Mob Figgaz. However, in recent years, he has worked closely with artists from other regions. The Jacka spent much of the 2013-2014 period working with Freeway.
Well-respected and a legend in the industry, The Jacka lent a co-sign to up-and-comer, Berner. These two have also worked on music and represent two different eras of Bay Area music. But, there was recently bad news revealed about The Jacka.
According to a series of tweets, The Jacka was shot in the head while he was in East Oakland. There is no word on what led to the shooting, but The Jacka is hospitalized in critical condition. Several fans have taken to Twitter to wish The Jacka well.
