Back in 2012, Joey Bada$$ began to see his popularity swell. He hit his peak in early 2013 and said his goal was to bring 1993 back, which sounded similar to other New York artists. Instead, Joey Bada$$ ended up going on an extended hiatus, returning at the end of 2014.
After holding down an executive position with Ecko and turning Jay-Z down, Joey Bada$$ had a lot of momentum. But, he is now preparing the release of his debut album. Recently, he was booked in Australia for their annual Falls Music Festival.
It was at this very show where Joey Bada$$ was arrested for assault, after he punched a guard who asked him for his credentials as he got on the stage. Currently, B4.Da.$$, his debut album, is set to be released on January 20. But, in the middle of what should be his promo tour time, Joey Bada$$ will have to return to Australia for his court date, which is set for March 19, according to Billboard.
