No doubt, music and culture has changed in hip hop, as change comes in life. Now, is the era of fast/stutter rap and sidechicks and “side niggas,” but it wasn’t always like this. During the summer of 2001, Alicia Keys debuted and delivered Songs In A Minor.
The second single off the album was the complete opposite of today’s times. Alicia Keys’ second single was titled “A Woman’s Worth” and it was a pretty big hit during the late summer of 2001. Catchy, this song had everyone signing about appreciating a woman.
In the spirit of Christmas and all of the women out there preparing meals and making sure the kids get exactly what they want, here is a little something for them. Of course, nothing can repay all that the woman does for the world, but this is something. Alicia Keys’ “A Woman’s Worth” is the Wednesday Throwback for this week.
