Yesterday, Fabolous announced a Christmas release date for The Young OG Project, also releasing the cover. It was a busy day for Fabolous, who has kept quiet for the entirety of 2014, not doing or saying much since the summer of 2013. But, this new internet era makes it seem like time is going by faster than it is, as Fab was just out last summer.
Fabolous hasn’t had much mainstream attention in five years, which is when he released his last album. This doesn’t come as a surprise, since Def Jam, his longtime label home, has gone through several changes. Most agree that things haven’t been the same since Jay-Z left the label.
MTV News recently sat down with Fabolous and he discussed The Young OG Project, premiering the trailer for the project. In the interview, Fabolous explains why he is releasing his project on Christmas. The conversation also detailed Fabolous announcing a new deal with Jay-Z and Roc Nation.
