In 2008, Lil Wayne released Tha Carter III and said he was making room for the artists on his Young Money label. Often, Lil Wayne said they were better than him and a lot of focus was put on both Kidd Kidd and Mack Maine, right away. Lil Wayne featured Kidd Kidd on the late summer hit, “Mrs. Officer,” and Mack Maine was on the “Got Money” remix.
When Lil Wayne properly introduced Young Money in 2009, Kidd Kidd was revealed to no longer be on the roster. Most thought it was over for Kidd Kidd, in terms of major success in the rap game. Two years later, many made light of the news of Kidd Kidd being signed to G-Unit Records.
In 2013, Kidd Kidd enjoyed a lot of success alongside 50 Cent on G-Unit Records. When 50 reunited G-Unit’s core of Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck, Kidd Kidd was added to the group. Recently, Kidd Kidd returned to New Orleans and he ran into his original crew, who was there to support him and he posted a pic with Lil Wayne and Mack Maine on Instagram.
