Last year was a major transitional year for Hip Hop Vibe and we saw someone new emerge front and center. Before he joined Hip Hop Vibe, DJ Louie Styles was a beast with the mixtapes and he still is. Because he’s located close to New York City, DJ Louie Styles ended up being in most of Hip Hop Vibe’s interviews.
Prior to DJ Louie Styles joining Hip Hop Vibe, Skzyoo had been on our radar. Most of the staff is already big fans of his music. But, Skyzoo was more focused on the Jay-Z music he was a fan of, releasing An Ode to Reasonable Doubt to close out 2013 and it was a dope project.
Skyzoo actually took a break from Christmas shopping to meet up with DJ Louie Styles over at Barclays Center for the interview. In the interview, Skyzoo discussed why he chose to tribute Jay-Z’s debut album. He went on to discuss the heavy criticism Jay-Z receives from “real” hip hop fans.
