Yesterday, Rick Ross completed what could very well be the biggest moment in his career, when he released Hood Billionaire. The album is the Miami veteran’s second release of the year, making him the first rapper since Lil Wayne to drop twice in one year. His former label-mate, Plies, also dropped two albums in the same year.
Another Rick Ross album means another epic collaboration with Jay-Z. This time, the two linked up for “Movin’ Bass,” which is one of the Hood Billionaire singles. Returning with this new album only months after Mastermind helps Rick Ross do something one of his main influences, Tupac Shakur, first did in dropping two albums in the same year.
Rick Ross, before the Hood Billionaire release, invited Peter Rosenberg into his studio session at the legendary Chung King Studios in New York City. Here, they sat down for the latest edition of “The Process” on Complex. In the interview, Rick Ross spoke on his style, being influenced by Tupac, working with Jay-Z, and much more.
