Any time a person dies, it is always sad news, because a life is over. But, any time a life is taken, it’s always sad news because someone was killed, no matter how it is justified. On the heels of the Trayvon Martin murder and then the aquittal of the man who murdered him, the urban community could not afford to take another hit.

This summer, another hit took place when Ferguson, Missouri resident, Michael Brown, was shot and killed by a police officer. Killed the day before he was supposed to move away for college, the officer, Darren Wilson, said he was questioning Brown over a robbery of a local convenience store. Even so, there were other methods to take.

Hip hop has obviously spoken out since Darren Wilson was aquitted of all charges last night, as it was heartbreaking. Throughout his career, Nas has been a voice for the people and this continues to this day. In response to Darren Wilson getting off, Nas had a tweet that explained it all.
