Big K.R.I.T. talks “Cadillactica” selling 44,000 copies in its first week with DJ Smallz [VIDEO]

Big K.R.I.T. DJ SmallzDown in the Deep South, Big K.R.I.T. was the first artist to break out from Mississippi in close to ten years. Def Jam signed him, as Sha Money XL had a lot of faith in the up-and-comer. He would talk to Hip Hop Vibe about the moment in which he met with Big K.R.I.T. and offered him his deal.

Fast forward four years and Big K.R.I.T. is one of the game’s most-discussed artists, recently releasing Cadillactica, his second studio album. The album’s first week sales were counted, not too long ago, and Big K.R.I.T. did very well for himself. His 44,000 copies sold in his first week were a record for him.

DJ Smallz sat down with him to discuss that feat and Big K.R.I.T. gave him a few minutes to speak. Coming from what he’s come from, it’s big for Big K.R.I.T. to do those types of numbers. He talked about how things are going for him since the release of his new album and the sales.
