Many of the greats have turned to No I.D., at one time or another. Known as the go-to guy for Common and Kanye West, the likes of Jay-Z, Nas, and others have also turned to him for production. Recent years have seen No I.D. also produce for Jhene Aiko, Big Sean, Pusha T, and many more.
No I.D.’s primary job, actually, is the Executive Vice President of A&R for Def Jam, a title he accepted in 2011. Through this role, No I.D. practically oversaw the growth of Kanye West’s record label, G.O.O.D. Music. Still, he has managed to produce some quality hit records for many artists.
Peter Rosenberg recently hosted No I.D. at Hot 97 for another edition of Juan Epstein. In this interview, No I.D. spoke on his controversial hometown and the fellow local heroes, which are Kanye West and Common. He explained his history with both of those guys and detailed what the future should hold.
